Seminar Commemorates Bhagat Singh’s Legacy as a Journalist at Vallabh college Mandi.

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Vallabh Government College today held a one-day seminar titled “Revolutionary Bhagat Singh: A Great Journalist” to honor the 117th birth anniversary of the iconic freedom fighter. The seminar was chaired by Flying Officer Dr. Chaman, head of the department.

In his keynote address, Dr. Chaman highlighted Bhagat Singh’s significant contributions as a journalist, emphasizing how he used his writing to advance the revolutionary struggle for freedom, equality, and justice. Singh contributed to notable publications like ‘Kirti’, ‘Pratik’, ‘Veer Arjun’, and ‘Arjun’, often writing under pseudonyms such as “Balwant” and “Vidrohi.”

Dr. Chaman elaborated on Singh’s ability to communicate revolutionary ideas that resonated with the masses, reflecting his socialist beliefs. He underscored how Singh’s writings motivated the youth to engage in the freedom movement while addressing issues of colonial exploitation and social injustice.

Assistant Professor Aditi Sharma also praised Singh’s work for its role in fostering political and social awareness among Indians. Students from the department, including Ankush, Rohit, and Nancy Rana, contributed their insights, reinforcing the seminar’s focus on Bhagat Singh’s lasting influence on India’s independence struggle.

The event served as a poignant reminder of Bhagat Singh’s legacy as a courageous journalist whose impactful writings continue to inspire future generations.
